Find Native Joomla 1.5 Extensions Easier

Last week, the Joomla Extensions Team made a welcome change in how they are asking third party developers to post their extensions to extensions.joomla.org.

Previously, you could search for extensions that work with 1.5, but the results would include many (if not most) that only worked in legacy mode.

Well, that's been solved.

Developers were sent an email asking them to take advantage of a new feature.

What will be in Joomla 1.6?

As Joomla 1.5 was in development, a clear path was outlined that described much more frequent milstones in terms of development. This basically meant faster progression to add features as Joomla moved from 1.5 to 1.6 etc.

I came across a recent forum post by Andrew Eddie that stated we might see Joomla 1.6 as early as August!

You may have visited one of the other popular blogs about Joomla at alledia.com. It's written by a fellow Brit living in the US, Steve Burge (he is going to be a fellow instructor at the upcoming Joomla University in Chicago).
