Find old posts on the Joomla forums
Aug 05 2008 - Tagged in: joomla.org
If you have an old post bookmarked at forum.joomla.org that was when it was running SMF, its more than likely that the link will give an error.
Fortunately, its relatively easy to figure out what the new URL is on the newer PHPbb3 forum.
Let's say your old link was:
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,255762.0/topicseen.html
The new link would be:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=255762
Thanks to Brian and Kenneth for pondering on this one.
If anyone knows how to build an htaccess redirect to deal with variables, perhaps we can pass that on to the j.org forum team.

... This page discusses doing the exact same thing only in reverse (PHPBB -> SMF). It may help someone skilled in htaccess realize what types of conversions are needed. http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=170959.0 |
