This book is about Joomla!, the popular and award-winning open source Content Management System (CMS). It will take you step-by-step through everything you need to develop a successful website powered by Joomla. The book gives a general overview of management of a CMS and teaches you key concepts regarding content organization, editing, and templates. Lastly, the book examines some more general topics such as how Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be maximized with Joomla and what resources are available in the Joomla web community.
This book focuses on the most current release of Joomla, known as Joomla 1.5. This is a brand new and significant update to this CMS.
This Book's Target Audience
This book primarily targets people using Joomla 1.5 to create a website, either for themselves or their clients. It's easy to read and low on technical jargon. It doesn't assume you know PHP, CSS, or any other of the many acronyms common to web applications.

Just visiting this page and reading about "The new Joomla book" regarding Joomla 1.5. Of course disappointed that it wasn't available yet until I read the line at the bottom "If you can't wait till the User's Guide to 1.5 is published, we have an ebook available for sale right now for only $27, the Joomla Administrator's Manual." I understood this to say that the hard copy book wasn't available yet but the ebook was. I proceeded to click through and purchase this for $27. Unfortunately I was mislead. This ebook is not about 1.5 at all but for 1.0.x which I don't intend to use or install. Consider my $27 a donation I guess. >:{ May I suggest you change that line to say ITS NOT AN EBOOK ON 1.5 BUT 1.0.X |

I'm not sure I'm using correct terminology, but what I'm after is simply a secondary layer of menus displayed when a user rolls the cursor over a higher level (eg., main) menu. I'm new to Joomla and don't quite see how to get this, although I note it is done on various Joomla sites. Thx, Greg |

So assuming I was to learn more when clicking the link, I did so, logged in with my CompassDesignds ID, and found nothing. Am I too eager, or did I click the weakest link? |
