Compass Designs .net

A common criticism of Joomla is that its sites (i.e. templates) are not as good as a non-CMS site. Its always nice to get recognition from the design community that is based in the non-CMS world.

A couple of weeks ago Compass Design was featured on Liquid Design, a gallery to promote the use of liquid layouts in CSS based design.

All sites on Liquid Designs meet the following criteria:

• Valid XHTML/HTML4 and CSS design
• No table based layouts
• Attractive design and clean code

Any form of mixed layout that has at least one variable-width column classifies as a liquid layout. Elastic (em) width sites are also accepted.

Hopefully, if I have time I will post some details of how I achieved my Joomla liquid layout for my template and some of the design choices I made.
