OK, so in my last post, Live Day 1 SEF URL problems I explained my master plan to do some htaccess redirection for all my old links.

Now, despite my current issue getting data on 404's, I can still make some headway because I *do* know some of the URL's that need redirecting. 

So here we are on day 1 of going live. Now to start putting my master plan into action on how to migrate all my old links.

So the process of trying to migrate compassdesigns.net started over a month ago with day 1:
Day 1 Uploading and Extracting Joomla 1.5 to ...

Now on Day 36, it looks like we are ready to make a live cut over to the new 1.5 version of the site. OK, so that seems like an awful long time to  get migrated, what have we been doing during that time?

As mentioned in my last post, I have now managed to get a couple of blogging extensions installed and have been pruning my menus. I had planned to re-build these after migration to 1.5 to better fit my new Joomla Blog concept.

On examining one of the submenus I had not intended to change, I noticed something strange.

So if you have been following along, I now have my old site successfully migrated to Joomal 1.5. Its currently working at www.makeajoomlablog.com. The idea here is to get the site all working as we want it to and then to repoint the DNS to compassdesigns.net for a smooth transition.

OK, so we have ran the migration script in our 1.0.13 site, and have hit a few snags....

There are 3 tables that need to be created for migration of the users, one record in each for each user. It seems because of the large numbers of users we have here (56,000), that the script is failing.
