The Joomla Joomla project recently reached its 10 millionth download of its popular CMS, a great milestone for the project, and in only 4 years.

Last year I estimated that over 30 million sites use Joomla, though obviously that number must be bigger now.

Interestingly enough, last month I also did some work breaking down the trends of 1.0 to 1.5 downloads of Joomla, you can see the results in this graph.

Joomla 1.5.11 has been released, and it includes security patches, so its important to update. But getting your Joomla Joomla site upgraded to the new version can be tricky, especially if you are using FTP.

Fortunately, there is an easier way, check out Joomlashack's tutorial How to Update Joomla 1.5 Versions.

There is a new Joomla Joomla User Group in Vermont, the second for the state!

The first meeting of the North VT Joomla Joomla! User Group will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2009, from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Joomla Joomla Project coordinator Wilco Jansen recently updated the Joomlaverse about the status of Joomla 1.6, the next version of Joomla. Joomla 1.6 is expected later in 2009, but is currently in pre-alpha stage.

Writing on the Joomla Project's Coordinator Blog, Jansen takes the reader through the thought process and development roadmap for Joomla 1.6. He outlines the updated list of features that are certain to be in this next version of Joomla, including more granula access control levels to give permissions to more discrete groups of users.

I have had quite a few people asking about and commenting on the HTML filtering options that were recently added to Joomla Joomla! 1.5

In trying to search out some documentation to help, I dug the following out of the Joomla Joomla! wiki. I thought I would reproduce it here as a useful cheat sheet.
