When creating a site, its often easy to get quickly distracted by the colors and templates of the site. When working with a client, the problem can sometimes make a project crawl as discussions revolve around the exact shade of red that's needed on that header. A powerful way to bypass this and have a more efficient process is to use what's known as a blank or skeleton template. The concept is to use a simple wireframe template with no color, font or graphical design to build the site. This allows you to concentrate on the content. Once the part of the site has been significantly addressed, a template can be developed. Even better, you are able to use real actual content, not just Lorem Ipsum. As an added bonus, if you are working with a client, you won't get caught with the problem of waiting for content from them to move the design process along! You can download a free blank or skeleton template for Joomla 1.5 from our download library. The file is csstemplatetutorials1-4.zip which has four templates, you'll need to use #2 for this trick. |
